Welcome Home!
Welcome Home!
Max greets me at the door
before I can even fasten the latch.
Then he races away for fun,
impossible to catch.
He runs to the far end of the house
then back, not missing a beat,
spinning and whirling and celebrating,
dancing at my feet.
His tail is wagging, for sure,
but the rest of him is wiggling too.
Just a bouncing ball of fur,
saying,
"You came home!
You came HOME!
I LOVE you!"

Thank you very much, Jerry! I appreciate it.
DeletePerfect description of a doggy welcome home. Go back outside and return again and he is just as excited. How can one NOT love such devoted pets ?
ReplyDeleteIt's true, Kathy. No matter how many times we leave and return again or how long we're gone, we still get the happy greeting. :-)
DeleteTrue! I just went out to put seed in the bird feeder and was almost taken down by the puppies who were so glad to see me this morning.
ReplyDeleteThey are a real joy, aren't they. :-)
DeleteWhat a sweetheart Max is! I know his love and devotion puts a smile on your face at the end of a long day!
ReplyDeleteHe does make me smile. He's always happy to see me. He really does offer unconditional love. :-)
DeleteMax is very lucky to live with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Harry. I think I'm the lucky one to own Max! :-)
DeleteDaisy, extending hugs to you my dear. Max is a cutie pie. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteHugs right back at you, Grace. Thank you! He brings me a lot of joy. :-)
DeleteWouldn't it be nice if our families greeted us as enthusiastically as our doggies?!
ReplyDeleteKaren, yes! I think we could all learn a few things from our dogs about the best way to treat others. :-)
DeleteIsn't it wonderful to find so much LOVE waiting for you at the door??? Wish humans could express their love like dogs can!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend. We finally got some SNOW this morning... Yeah!!! BUT--it was 10 degrees when I got up early today...
Hugs,
Betsy
Betsy, they do show us a lot of love! I'm glad to hear you're getting the snow you wanted. We are getting snow again here too. We're expecting about three more inches today.
DeleteThey are so funny like that, aren't they? And they're the same the world over, in all nations and languages.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Jannie, they have their own way of communicating and don't hesitate to show their feelings. Hugs to you! :-)
DeleteA greeting like that would be hard to resist:) Such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteKaren, he is hard to resist, which is probably why he is so spoiled. haha!
DeleteAwww! As you know, I'm partial to big ol' dogs but I gotta admit-- Max is pretty cute! If only my hubs would greet me at the door like my dog does every day. Except for the occasional sprinkling on the shoe... yeah, I could do without that. ;D
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Rachael, fortunately, Max doesn't do that. His greeting would lose some of its charm if he did that. :-D
DeleteAwe, that's so sweet. He's a cute dog. Stay warm Daisy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie! I'm staying cozy in the house and trying to pretend it's not snowing outside. :-D
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great dog!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. He is! When I'm at home, he's always right by my side. :)
Deletebet you love him right back!
ReplyDeleteI do indeed, Annmarie. He is a great companion. :)
DeleteAhh, that's sweet! He looks perfectly content in the 2nd shot.
ReplyDeleteHe does look content there, but then it doesn't take much to make him happy. :-)
DeleteAdorable! xoxo
