Sunday Afternoon
Sunday afternoons are nice,
really, the best part of the week.
Sipping black raspberry sparkling ice,
snug on the couch, reading a book,
while the poodle soaks up some sun
on the carpet at my feet.
Chicken is roasting in the oven.
Dishes and laundry are done.
Sitting here cozy with my forever one.
Who knew life could be so sweet?
Sounds like a delightful afternoon. Give Max a hug from us!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice Sunday afternoon.. Kind of like mine.. To cold and windy to get out much.. I like Sunday afternoons and relaxing.. Hope you continue enjoying yours.
ReplyDeleteSo what time is dinner? Hugs.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet poem...don't you just lost relaxing Sunday afternoons? Thanks for your post on the kitties blog. It WAS very scary! I thought for sure Buster was dying! I'm so grateful he's ok. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy and Buster
oops...I meant don't you just "love" Sunday afternoon!!
ReplyDeleteMildred, I will do that. Thank you! Hugs back to you too! :)
ReplyDeleteSusie, thank you. I hope you have had a relaxing Sunday too. :)
Grace, come any time! We still have leftovers. Hugs to you too. :-)
Thank you, Cindy. I'm so glad to hear Buster is OK, and I read it as "love" without even noticing it was the wrong word. Haha! :-D
Oh, that is so sweet! I envy you... I have trouble relaxing.
ReplyDeleteIt would be so nice to have a relaxing Sunday afternoon! On the farm the work goes on no matter the day. You've made it sound so special!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Finding the time is the only trouble I have. :)
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, living on a farm is a busy day everyday, I'm sure. Not every Sunday is so relaxed here, but this week it was nice. :)
Hi Daisy, Great poem-and you are right. Life is SWEET. Hope you have an incredible week.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Ahh yes! So lovely. I had a Sunday like that this week too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem, Daisy. I like this very much about Sunday afternoon. It sounds so peaceful and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Trish, and Brenda, thank you. I hope you all have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteLeft overs Weeeee! Daisy I have been meaning to tell you, every time I see your profile picture you remind me of someone. Don't know who. You just have one of those "faces" I suppose that people can relate to. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I've been told before by others that I remind them of someone else. I must have a lot of long lost twins out there-haha! :-)
Deleteoh yes...what Sundays are meant to be!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect afternoon.
ReplyDeleteDaisy: Everything about you is sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteAnnmarie and Becca, it did turn out to be a very nice afternoon. :)
ReplyDeleteReenie, thank you. You are very sweet yourself! :-)
The perfect description to sum up a Sunday afternoon! Just love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Daisy. I love the line, "Sitting here cozy with my forever one." So sweet! Your poem perfectly sums up the best parts of a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that I didn't stop by sooner. I suspected that maybe your posts weren't showing up in my feed, so I stopped in to check and I was right! I will check my reader and add your url manually and hopefully that will clear up the problem. I hope you're having a wonderful week so far! :)
Very sweet poem, C. "Black raspberry sparkling ice" -- is that a liquor drink? Not asking for myself, but for a thirsty friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathleen! :) Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteJenn, thank you for adding me to your feed. I hope your week is going well too. :)
Thank you, Cary. You can tell your "thirsty friend" that it's not a liquor drink. It is flavored sparkling spring water that has vitamins, antioxidants, and green tea extract added to it. It has zero calories and comes in a bunch of flavors, but black raspberry is my favorite. :D I hope you're having a good week!
Yes, there is something about Sunday afternoons...more relaxed and peaceful. Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! We need more Sunday afternoons in our week. :-)
DeleteA perfect Sunday as far as I'm concerned. You are blessed!
ReplyDeleteI am indeed blessed! Thank you, Kathy! :)
DeleteEverything sounded so perfect and if thast chicken were cooking in the crockpot it would be even better for me.
ReplyDeleteDorothy, the foods you make in your crock pot always sound so good! :-) I hope you have a good weekend!
DeleteDaisy...reading this makes me sigh. You captured the sweetness of the day. Hugs to you and wishing you a great weekend
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nikki. :-) I hope you are having a great weekend too! :)
ReplyDeleteAwe Daisy... I love those lazy Sunday's where dinner is cooking and I am curled up reading a book... SO relaxing :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Launna. I don't have a lot of time to just sit and relax and read a book very often, so I really enjoy it when I get the chance. :)
DeleteNice -...
ReplyDeleteand it sounds like you will be just the two of you soon - We are experiencing this a lot more now that we have moved and don't babysit grandkids on a regular basis. It's rather nice!
Sandy, yes, soon it will be just the two of us. It will take us in new directions, I'm sure.
