Spring's Reception Line

Spring's Reception Line

Cheerful, welcoming daffodils
edge the sidewalk,
(forming spring's reception line).
They bob their heads
in greeting, saying,
"How do you do?"
I answer back,
"Spring is here! Life is fine!"

  6. Hello,

Beautiful poem full of happiness and cheer. Lovely photos of daffodils. Unfortunately, these wonderful flowers are not seen where I live.

Your poem reminded me of the poem on Daffodils by William Wordsworth which I had to learn by heart when I was in school. The following lines are firmly etched still in my mind.

BESIDE THE LAKE, BENEATH THE TREES,
FLUTTERING AND DANCING IN THE BREEZE.

    HAPPY EASTER

  9. There are most likely many daffofils blooming at our VA home and sadly we will miss seeing them as they will have bloomed out by the time we go there in late April. Thanks for sharing yours, Daisy, and best wishes for a happy spring and joyous Easter.

  17. I don't see many daffodils down here like I did up north--but they wouldn't be special when we have things blooming all year :)

  20. Thanks, everyone. Spring keeps coming and going here, trading days with winter like it can't make up it's mind whether to stay or not. We've had snow, hail, rain, sunshine, and widely varying temperatures in the past week. I hope spring is here to stay now.
