Time Out

Time Out

It’s been a long day.
Junior has broken every rule.
Mommy has put him in time out.
He’s sitting in the corner on a stool.
She steps back to survey the mess.
Crayon marks are on the wall
in red, green, and blue.
Toys are thrown
in every corner of the room.
Mommy whimpers a little.
She needs a time out too.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

  2. Yeah, when the "writing on the wall" is in crayon, you MIGHT be a mother...

Fun poem. Happy Mother's Day to you, too. May we all enjoy a bit of a "time out."

  12. Thank you, all. It has been many years since my sons were small enough to write on any walls, but I wanted to try and write a humorous Mother's Day poem. Wishing you all a wonderful day. :)

  21. Oh, the joys of mommyhood. I can say that my kiddos never colored on the walls, but they did every other imaginable thing they could come up with.

This is so cute! I hope you enjoyed a blessed Mother's Day.
Recently when I passed the elementary school, the kids were playing and one little girl was standing in the corner of the fence with her back to the activity....must have been time out for her!
