Little Things

Little Things

Safety pins and buttons,
paper clips and strings,
nuts and bolts, nails and staples,
and other little things.

You might not even notice them
because they are so small,
but little things hold the world together.
They matter most of all.

Smiles and kind words,
and other gestures of good will
don't take much effort;
don't require a lot of skill.

But others will take note of them
and be quick to recall
the kindness that was shown to them--
it makes a difference to us all.

  6. The very poem we need at this time of so much angst in our country. You're so good at taking a subject and bringing it to life.

  7. Absolutely. The so-called "little things" in life aren't actually "little" at all. It's all a matter of perspective and appreciation. Great poem, Daisy!

  14. Palavras gentis podem ser curtas e fáceis de falar, mas seus ecos são
    verdadeiramente infinitos.

  19. It truly is the little things that matter the most - that's what Sam and I have been arguing about a lot lately. Little things he could do to make me feel more secure and loved - it's not about these massive romantic gestures, rather small tiny things that came from his heart and were so unique and him.

Lovely poem and so so so fitting for how I'm feeling right now xxx
